    Greg DeTogne 06/14/16 10:49 AM,
Fremont Street is where it all really started in Las Vegas. As the site of many firsts for both the city and Nevada, consider that within an area of five fabled downtown blocks, the city’s first hotel was built (the Hotel Nevada in 1906), Nevada’s first gaming license was issued (to the Northern Club), and the town’s first high-rise took shape (the Fremont Hotel in 1956). By 1992, however, Fremont Street was no longer leading the way, a fact underscored… View this story

No matter how much dust Luke Bryan’s current Kill the Lights Tour kicks up, the party and the good times just keep rolling. With seemingly no venue deemed off-limits on his schedule, the two-time CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year is on the road with a backdrop of dates recently played or soon to come at festivals, in arenas, sheds, stadiums, fieldhouses, and even the wide open spaces of farm fields, where his annual Farm Tour returns him to… View this story

Hans Haas is passionate about many things, particularly audio, science and technology, and brewing beer. It’s a combination that led him open Wavelength Brewery last year in Vista, CA. But describing Wavelength as “just” a brewery would do it and Haas a disservice, because the venue is also becoming a hub for technology education in the Vista area. Haas’ career has taken winding path, starting in the tech world as a network engineer. “That became boring real fast,” he says.… View this story

    PSW Staff 05/10/16 12:16 PM,
RMB Audio (Selma, NC) has just completed installation of Martin Audio’s new CDD-WR15 loudspeakers at North Carolina’s Museum of Art outdoor amphitheater, the world’s first installation of the weatherized loudspeakers. Founded in 1924, the museum was granted an adjacent 164-acre site for the development of the Museum Park and trail system in the year 2000. Over a dozen works of art and two miles of trails have made the museum one of a handful in the world with both a… View this story

Quebec-based production company Solotech has opened a new office in Nashville, led by Paul Owen, to develop new business opportunities in international touring and special events. “Nashville is the music city. We have several clients in this city and it was important for us to have a storefront there, to be closer to their reality,” explains Martin Chouinard, executive vice president of the rental division of Solotech. In addition to serving existing customers, the Nashville office offers international tours and… View this story

Under the stewardship of Scott Ciungan, Burst Sound and Lighting has grown substantially since he took over the company in 2013. But when the 23-year-old first started working at the Detroit, MI-based production firm in 2005, he was still in high school. It was a weekend gig where he played the role of “shop kid,” cleaning cables and anything else that needed it. Soon enough, however, that changed as he became increasingly involved with the company, eventually serving as then-owner… View this story

As part of a $110 million renovation, AT&T Center, the 18,000-seat home of the NBA San Antonio Spurs, has a new sound reinforcement system designed by Wrightson, Johnson, Haddon & Williams (WJHW, Dallas) and installed by LD Systems (Houston) that’s headed by L-Acoustics loudspeakers and amplified/controllers. “The previous sound system featured an exploded cluster design, and integrated amplifiers in the loudspeaker cabinets made maintenance a challenge; in order to service them, the entire self-powered cluster needed to be lowered to… View this story
