This year’s KROQ Weenie Roast Y Fiesta was both a 20th Anniversary musical celebration and a heartfelt remembrance for the Beastie Boys’ Adam “MCA” Yauch, who passed away from cancer the day before the show. Delicate Productions, also celebrating its 20th Anniversary of providing sound for KROQ’s annual event, upped the ante by deploying Martin Audio Multi-cellular Loudspeaker (MLA) arrays for the first time at the roast. Held at the Verizon Amphitheatre, the event featured headliner Coldplay along with heavyweights…

All equipment in your inventory should have PM scheduled at least once a year, and more frequently if it goes out the shop door a lot and/or is exposed to harsh environments. PM comes down to inspecting, testing, cleaning, lubricating and repairing to keep systems in top operating condition. In addition to annual PM, all gear should be given a quick…

The municipality of Praia, located on the Cape Verde Island of Santiago, isn’t the most obvious place to find a pair of Soundcraft Vi6 digital desks. The island hosts a population of around 500,000, and although 20 percent live in the…

Currently on an extensive 8-month tour with Grammy Award-winning country act Lady Antebellum, southern California-based Sound Image is deploying a Soundcraft Vi6 digital mixing console at the monitor position. Sound Image chose a Vi6 as the monitor console for its sonic quality and ease of use. Peter Bowman, monitor engineer for Lady Antebellum, was new to the Soundcraft Vi6 when he first started the tour, but has quickly adapted. “I didn’t care about a learning curve,” he states. “If it…

“Ever since I drove my first drywall screw into my mother’s coffee table, I’ve had a passion for building things,” says Gregg Brunclik. Originally that manifested itself as a desire to build things with his hands, he adds, including the first loudspeakers his company, Clearwing Productions, offered to its clients. While that passion has evolved over time, it’s been integral to success of Clearwing since day one, and well before the company incorporated in 1985. Over time, the Milwaukee-based company…
