Anshe Emet Synagogue was founded in 1873 and moved to its current building in 1929. Services feature performances by Alberto Mizrahi, the congregation’s world-class Hazzan, or cantor (a person who sings liturgical music and leads prayer), as well as by guest cantors. The sanctuary also hosts a wide range of events, which can now be heard clearly with new loudspeakers from Renkus-Heinz. The sanctuary and its 30-year-old sound system were originally designed for spoken word. The old loudspeakers were 50… View this story

The Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) has a worldwide network of mandirs (temples), with the crown jewel being the Swaminaryan Akshardham, created by over 11,000 artisans and volunteers. The temple recently added loudspeakers from Renkus-Heinz to support the water and light performance. The fountains at Akshardham, known as “Sahaj-Anand” (“Subtle Bliss” or “Eternal Bliss”), are one of the temple’s main attractions. On the campus of Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, Oakwood Adventist Academy (OAA) has recently upgraded its facilities considerably, including a 28,000-square-foot middle school building, a cafeteria, and a large gymnasium. The 1000-seat sanctuary of St. Bridget Catholic Church, had the original sound system installed behind panels above the altar area, was typical for its day, but never really addressed the hall’s acoustical challenges.  Jon McDowell, owner of Rockford, IL-based systems integrator Jonny B Enterprises recommended a system based around left and right Renkus-Heinz Iconyx-series IC24-R-II steerable arrays. “The room is about 124 feet in diameter, with a high ceiling and windows around the perimeter,” explains McDowell. “The views are lovely… View this story

For more than 30 years The Coach House Concert Theatre in San Juan Capistrano has hosted an ongoing roster of regional and international artists. Until recently, the 480-seat hall has also struggled with a notoriously poor sounding room, but that has been resolved with loudspeakers from Renkus-Heinz. As ESP Management’s Brian English explains, “The room is very difficult.” “It has a low ceiling, and the stage is asymmetrically placed, so there’s a larger seating area at house left than at… View this story

Built less than ten years ago, Sao Paolo’s Basilica Nosa Senhora do Rosario boasts Gothic-style architecture inspired by such medieval grand cathedrals as Notre Dame and Saint Chapelle in Paris. Diego Nascimento Brito and the team at systems integrator AMI Music of Sao Paulo created a sound system for the interior of the basilica, to overcome the reverberant and complex acoustics with Renkus-Heinz Iconyx technology. “Masses at the basilica are very traditional, with no instrumental music but a lot of… View this story
