Ahnert Feistel Media Group (AFMG) has released version 1.1 of EASE Address software. The program has been licensed by SoundTube Entertainment, Bosch, Electro-Voice, Dynacord, Bouyer, QSC and Tannoy for the design and optimization of ceiling loudspeaker installations and other distributed systems. “EASE Address is the most efficient program I’ve found for ceiling system design,” says Bruce C. Hope Community Church began worship services in 1994 with about 30 people in attendance. Less than 12 years later, the Raleigh, North Carolina interdenominational church celebrated the grand opening of a new worship campus that accommodates an average of more than 3,500 congregants every Sunday. In addition to a 1,500-seat worship sanctuary, it offers a chapel, café, numerous classrooms, youth rooms and more, each with discrete audio systems (and, in many cases, video/lighting systems as well). The theater-style worship sanctuary…

The most notable thing about weekly services at Christ’s Church at Mason (Ohio) is that each service is in a distinctly different style – traditional, contemporary and blended. The church’s 1300-seat sanctuary was recently renovated with a new sound system to handle the contemporary and blended services while a smaller chapel was built to handle the traditional service. Longtime integrator Worship Resources was brought in to develop an appropriate audio design, with an Allen & Heath iLive-144 digital mixing system…

As part of an extensive renovation of its sanctuary, the Marion Church of God recently completed installation of a new sound system featuring components from WorxAudio Technologies. Billed as the “friendliest church in town,” Marion Church of God conducts five services each week to accommodate its varied congregation and broadcasts its weekly program, God’s Revelation for the Hour, over a local cable television channel. Music plays a vital role in the church’s worship services and with their new sound reinforcement…

Ever since my most recent steady house gig became not quite so steady, I’ve been banished to a 14-foot straight truck to do gigs that usually come at the last minute. In fact, last minute gigs have become the rule instead of the exception. I used to consider getting booked for a Saturday gig on the prior Tuesday as a tight timeframe. Lately, Saturday night bookings are arriving on Saturday afternoon. The gig I’m writing about here, however, was booked…

Bob Lee of QSC Audio officially took charge of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) Secretary post in late 2008 after being elected to the post at the 125th AES Convention in San Francisco. “I’m handling the Board of Governors’ meeting minutes and correspondence, and working with the treasurer to develop the AES’s annual budget,” Lee says, outlining just some of his new responsibilities. “My interest in and knowledge of information design will definitely be a plus for this job.” A…
