    The AC/DC Black Ice world tour has landed the UK, accompanied by vintage as well as the latest in Midas console technology. Front of house engineer Paul “Pab” Boothroyd is using a refurbished 1980s PRO40 analog console to mix the band, with a PRO6 live audio system alongside to run the Klark Teknik DN9696 hard disc recorder and mix support band The Answer.     A few nights ago, I attended the gig of a friend of mine who plays guitar. He’s a great player and a pretty cool guy.  Sound-wise, there was a lot of stage wash that helped make the room sound muddy, and the house mix wasn’t doing much to help bring some presence and clarity to the whole picture.     Meyer Sound has announced that it will release high-resolution measurement data for its loudspeakers in the GLL (Generic Loudspeaker Library) format, enabling users of EASE design and simulation software to do system design modeling using Meyer Sound self-powered loudspeakers. The GLL format stores data in considerably higher resolution than the EASE SPK database used by previous versions of EASE, resulting in more precise predictions.
