Kyle P. Snyder 05/02/12 01:41 PM,This is a review of Quiztones, frequency ear training apps for Mac & iOS from Audiofile Engineering. As engineers, we all have particular strengths and weaknesses. Some are musically gifted and play multiple instruments, while others naturally take to composition. However, what about the most basic of skills - our hearing? Unless you have absolute pitch or synesthesia, we’re all playing with the hand dealt to us a birth. The only thing we can do is hone our auditory perception.… View this story

Kyle P. Snyder 09/27/11 04:14 PM,Over the past decade, we’ve seen the proliferation of digital consoles in both live and recorded sound. This is not to say that analog consoles are going away at all, so it’s prudent for church sound personnel to be familiar with both sides of the playing field. Kyle P. Snyder 07/13/11 08:21 AM,Sometimes, despite the best of intentions, things just go wrong. I know because that’s exactly what happened to me today. I sat down at a workstation that worked perfectly the day before (OK, not perfectly, but you get the point), opened up Pro Tools with my MBox 2 Pro attached, and that’s when the trouble began. To rewind a bit, there’s a light on the front panel of the MB2 Pro. Mine is green because I use the power supply,… View this story
