Located just blocks from the White House, the World Bank opened for business at 1818 H street on June 25, 1948.  Today, the Bank’s address remains the same, but as the organization’s focus has evolved, so has the footprint of its headquarters.  The Bank’s H Street headquarters is now a multi-building complex covering an entire city block. The buildings are enclosed by a massive glass atrium more than 150 feet tall and 150 feet wide. The atrium has become a… View this story

Christ Chapel Bible Church knows sound. The 30-year-old church in Ft. Worth has steadily expanded since it was founded in 1984, adding new buildings to its evolving main campus and recently opening a satellite location. Like many contemporary houses of worship, Christ Chapel Bible Church recognizes that delivering a powerful message requires a sound system that can offer utter clarity for the spoken word and clear, clean sound for a strong music program. In order to achieve all this and… View this story

Completed in 1837, St. John the Evangelist is a historic Catholic Church in Frederick, Maryland with a Grecian ionic design and a cruciform floor plan. The church has carpeted floors but its spacious marble and plaster interior and hardwood pews create major challenges for voice intelligibility. St. John’s existing sound system offered poor coverage, intelligibility and had a consistent feedback issue. In 2011, Eric Johnson of Audio Video Group offered St. John’s a new system using Community’s ENTASYS column line-source… View this story

In a city with no shortage of museums (New York City), the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum is truly one of a kind. Founded in 1982 as a final home for the historic aircraft carrier USS Intrepid, the museum’s treasures now include the world’s fastest commercial jetliner, the British Airways Concorde; the first space shuttle, Enterprise; and the USS Growler, the only American diesel-powered strategic missile submarine open to the public. More than a million visitors every year tour… View this story

Two One Systems 108IM loudspeakers were recently installed in the Oklahoma State Supreme Court chamber to resolve vocal clarity concerns. Located in the historic Capitol building in Oklahoma City, the chamber had been plagued with intelligibility issues for years. The assistant to the Chief Justice contacted nearby Audio Associates to remedy the situation. “We have a 40+ year history of designing, installing and maintaining sound systems utilized in the Capitol building, including the House of Representatives and Senate chambers,” explains… View this story

Erected in 1875, Cornell University’s Sage Chapel seats over 700 people plus a large choir for services and other events. The sound reinforcement system is designed to help voices carry with intelligibility in the large space as well as support musical instruments. Its latest upgrade condensed seven feet of rack space used for 1990s-era processing and amplification into just seven inches using an Ashly Audio Pema 8250 and an Ashly ne4250pe. Each unit combines Ashly’s Protea signal processing with clean,… View this story

Legacy United Methodist Church in Bismarck, North Dakota, opened the doors on its new worship space in late fall 2013, just in time for the holiday season. Featuring contemporary worship and music styles, the church hosts several services each weekend to a large and vibrant congregation. The challenges selecting a sound system were familiar: vocal intelligibility from the pastor and the musicians, a well-balanced sound mix for music, a versatile system for a number of applications, even coverage for the… View this story

Countryman EMW omnidirectional lavalier microphones were vital during a recent studio shoot for an online peer exchange among a community of oncologists. The event, held at BlueRock Productions in Baltimore, consisted of five doctors who were actively engaged in a constructive and lively discussion about the current state of cancer pharmacology. The ability to ensure clean, clear dialog was essential on this project and the EMW microphones did not disappoint. Ty Ford, a Baltimore, MD-based location sound mixer was contracted… View this story

Originally known as “Free Church” when it was founded in 1848, St. John’s Congregational Church in Springfield, Massachusetts is one of the nation’s oldest predominantly African-American churches. Membership to the church swelled in the 21st Century, prompting the church to raise funds for a new 800-seat sanctuary on property across the street from its existing, 100-year old building. Recently completed, the new sanctuary features a Danley Sound Labs sound reinforcement system that delivers precise intelligibility and soul-moving bass. “St. John’s… View this story
