Ashly Audio will introduce pêma (Protea Equipped Media Amplifier), a powered processor, at InfoComm 2010. By merging Ashly’s open-architecture DSP functionality with Ashly’s amplifier in a two-rack space unit, pêma lowers overall system cost, occupies less space, improves energy efficiency, and both speeds and simplifies system installation and programming. Four and eight amplifier channel versions are available at both 125 and 250 Watts per channel. “Pêma changes the way consultants and integrators approach sound system design.” “With only the addition…

Florida-based American Audio Visual, Inc. recently finished a complete outfitting of the audio system for the newly expanded Christ the King Lutheran Church in Largo, Florida. The systems were installed in the Church’s newly finished Christian Ministry Center (CMC), which offers facilities for fellowship, classes, youth, a full-size kitchen and a 36 x 36-foot performance stage for music, drama, worship, and more. As the Church outgrew its previous quarters, which seated approximately 200, and planned for a new facility that…

Parishioners founded Saint Stephen Catholic Church in 1847 on the outskirts of what was then the frontier town of Milwaukee in the Wisconsin Territory. Its first church survived until 1927, when a fire burned it to the ground, and its second church served the community from that time until the close of 2009. In time for Christmas, Saint Stephen moved into a brand new structure that perfectly blends the rich aesthetic of its earlier buildings with a range of modern…

Harvest Church recognized the importance of a quality sound reinforcement system and planned for it right from the design phase of their new sanctuary. Dating as far back as 2005, architectural considerations accounted for essentials such as support weight for the loudspeakers, conduit, electrical requirements, and related issues so as to ensure nothing was overlooked. Greenville, NC-based Hi-Tech Electronics, a design/build firm with a focus on the commercial and House of Worship installation markets, was contracted to handle the implementation…

T. C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Va. presented an unusual challenge to the designers of its new sound system - plenty of space for the new loudspeakers but very little time to fit them. The school recently moved into a new building designed as the flagship of Alexandria City Public Schools. The facility includes an 880-seat auditorium with a proscenium stage up front and two lecture halls in the rear. To provide sound reinforcement for both school meetings and…
