EAW has announced the appointment of Ibbenbüren-based firm TRIUS Vertrieb GmbH & Co. KG as EAW’s exclusive distributor for Germany. Effective immediately, TRIUS will handle distribution for EAW’s products, interfacing with EAW’s European Sales Director Sean Martin, EAW Application Support Group EMEA representative Moray McMillin and other key members of EAW’s team in Europe. EAW has unveiled the new SB1001 large-format dual-18-inch-loaded subwoofer, essentially a SB1002 large-format flyable sub without the rigging hardware. While the dimensions of the SB1001 vented enclosure and the fundamental acoustical philosophy remain true to the SB1000, the core components are significantly enhanced to include larger 4.5-inch (115-mm) voice coils, 20 percent higher BI, and all-neodymium magnet structures. EAW loudspeakers were recently chosen for a house-of-worship installation at CTMI Church in the town of Trianon, near Port Louis in the island nation of Mauritius. Durban, South Africa-based Northwind Recording provided the system design, analyzed the space’s acoustics and performed the installation. EAW’s South African distributor Surgesound supplied the equipment and managed all processing and system alignment.
