For the recent USGA US Open Championship, NY-based CP Communications was able to transfer four DiGiCo SD10B consoles from its remote-production trucks and configure them as on-site record-edit flypack suites for FOX Sports. These are some of the same DiGiCo SD10B audio consoles that CP acquired in 2014 as part of an expansion that saw the company grow its fleet of HD RF mobile production vehicles. At the time, the SD10B was chosen to become the default-standard console for CP’s… View this story

After their ‘difficult second album’ hit the number one spot in the UK, US, and Canada, you could say that The Lumineers have officially gone global with Cleopatra. The two-time Grammy-nominated folk trio from Colorado are currently selling out venues across the US and Europe. Mixing monitors from the side of the stage is Brad Galvin, with his DiGiCo SD5 console. The Lumineers are Wesley Schultz, Neyla Pekarek, and Jeremiah Caleb Fraites. The DiGiCo S21 was designed as an entry-level digital console at a price point that makes DiGiCo accessible to a much broader range of users. The house-of-worship market has been embracing the S21 as a way to bring the benefits of a digital console into the church. “What’s interesting is that we’ve found that the house-of-worship market is actually a very challenging one,” observes Matt Larson, national sales manager for professional audio products at Group One, DiGiCo’s exclusive US distributor.… View this story

When Bright Star, Steve Martin and Edie Brickell’s musical made its Broadway debut at the Cort Theatre, it was the culmination of a long, successful journey for sound designer Nevin Steinberg and Masque Sound. The two first collaborated on the show for its world premiere in 2014 at San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre before moving to the Kennedy Center for its pre-Broadway run this past winter. The original Ronnie Scott’s opened its doors in October 1959 as a small basement club where local musicians could jam with others who shared their passion. Almost six decades later, and in its Soho home, Ronnie Scott’s regularly hosts the biggest names in jazz as well as Latin, jive, blues, flamenco, tap dancing and DJ sets. A recent upgrade of the club’s technical facilities has seen the installation of a digital audio network plus two DiGiCo consoles, with the system… View this story
