Currently serving as the director of Danley (Sound Labs) University, Doug Jones grew up in northeastern Congo, the child of missionary parents, and his feelings about his childhood experience are complex: the benefits — difficult to articulate — came at considerable costs. “It’s hard to know how to share my story with anyone who wasn’t a missionary kid,” he says. “And yet it is my story; it shaped who I am today.” Jones has long mused about the radical discord… View this story

Danley Sound Labs originally introduced the TH-50 subwoofer in 2007. Designed for home- and commercial-theater applications, the 21Hz to 70Hz performance made it effective as a theatrical subwoofer. Unfortunately, Danley had to suspend production of the TH-50 in 2011 due to supplier issues. Now, those issues have been resolved and thus Danley is resuming production of the TH-50. “Audiophiles continue to revere the TH-50, and we have had innumerable requests to get it back into production,” said Mike Hedden, president… View this story

On the north end of the Las Vegas strip, deep inside the SLS Hotel & Casino – formerly the Sahara of Ocean’s Eleven and Rat Pack fame – is the Foundry: a new concert venue. Its odd but impressive layout – three stories tall, far wider than deep with two of the three main bars flanking the stage at a considerable distance – makes for challenging sound reinforcement. JR Sound Company designed a system for the Foundry built around point… View this story

Danley Sound Labs will add its hometown football team to the list of sports stadiums using Danley loudspeakers and subwoofers. The Atlanta Falcons are currently building the 75,000-seat Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which will feature a unique “pinwheel-shaped” retractable roof, the world’s largest LED screen, and a truly massive distributed Danley Jericho Horn and BC-218 subwoofer sound reinforcement system. “The Falcons headquarters is five minutes from my house, and I’ve been a lifelong fan,” enthused Danley president and CEO, Mike Hedden. “We… View this story

The University of New Mexico football team, the Lobos, plays all of its home games at University Stadium on the school’s south campus in Albuquerque. Erected in 1960, University Stadium underwent several expansions that brought its current seating capacity to just shy of 40,000. Recently, the school replaced its former south end zone scoreboard with a new Daktronics LED scoreboard in the north end zone, opting to include two Danley Sound Labs’ Jericho Horn J3 point source loudspeakers supported by… View this story

Danley Sound Labs is doing good works in the community, recognizing that it has a social and spiritual obligation to make the world a better place. On Friday, April 22, Danley Sound Labs’ engineering and administrative operations all but closed down for the day. A large group of employees participated in a “Danley Does Good” event by helping build and prepare the Habitat for Humanity of Hall County’s new ReStore architectural salvage and resale facility. The Danley team framed and… View this story

As the congregation at Redeemer Bible Church in Minnetonka, Minnesota grew steadily larger, its low-ceiling, A-frame sanctuary seemed to grow steadily smaller; prompting a fundraiser for a new 500-seat sanctuary attached it to its existing building. Twin Cities-based Station 19 Architects and Audio Video Electronics (AVE) collaborated to design and build an inviting worship space with Danley Sound Labs point-source stereo loudspeakers paired with a flown Danley directional subwoofer array, vibrant video and LED lighting, and speech-enhancing acoustics – all… View this story

Founded in 1956 by a missionary, Anchorage Baptist Temple (ABT) has grown from 300 members to over 2,200 members, which spurred the construction of a stunning 2,100-seat sanctuary in 1992 under the watch of Dr. Jerry Prevo, ABT’s beloved pastor of 45 years, Partly because ABT’s services have become more contemporary and partly because the sanctuary is hosting more and more Christian musical acts, AVL consulting and integration firm Michael Garrison Associates (MGA, Fresno, California) recently renovated the sound system… View this story

Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana hosts the Independence Bowl, which has been played every year since 1976. The contest currently pits an AAC conference favorite against an ACC conference favorite. The stadium holds 63,000 fans and is routinely packed to capacity on the big day. The stadium’s owners ripped out the sound system in anticipation of the 2015 game, and YESCO Electronics replaced it with two Danley Sound Labs Jericho Horns, a Danley BC-415 subwoofer, and several Danley SH-96 loudspeakers… View this story
