Community Professional Loudspeakers has applied for EN54-24 Certification of many of its large-scale loudspeaker systems. EN54-24 Certification will enable its loudspeakers to be used in voice alarm systems in venues across Europe. The international laboratory network of European Notified Body, Intertek, will be conducting the testing. Intertek’s newly opened Life Safety & Security testing facility in Leatherhead UK had been developed to accommodate larger products used in fire detection and evacuation and had the capacity to test Community’s loudspeakers (which… View this story

At any given home game, more than 80,000 fans stream through the entry gates of the famed Notre Dame Stadium to cheer for their Fighting Irish football team. It’s a tradition that dates back to the 1930s Knute Rockne era, when the stadium was built. While the stadium has undergone a number of renovations over the years, parts of the venue had suffered from poor sound coverage. As Brian McCullagh of ESCO Communications in Indianapolis explains, it was those areas… View this story

The hills west of Baltimore are home to First Evangelical Lutheran, one of the area’s oldest and beloved churches. Established in 1874 om Ellicott City, MD, the church has grown steadily over the years, moving to its current site in the mid-1950s. The campus is home to several buildings, including the Ellicott City Children’s House, Montessori School, and the current sanctuary, dedicated in 1996. The octagonal-shaped sanctuary is as beautiful as it is acoustically challenging. Designed to feature the church’s… View this story

Community Professional has enhanced its WET and R-Series loudspeakers, ideal for outdoor sound reinforcement, with the introduction of color-matched grilles and yokes with improved weather-resistance.  As an example, Community’s R-Series, beginning with the model R.5HP, will gain attractive, two-layer, powder-coated steel yokes and grilles.  These will be light gray in color, to match the enclosure, and will enhance the product’s weather-resistance as well as improving the appearance. The rest of the R-Series product line will receive the same makeover later… View this story

At 2009 InfoComm, Community Professional introduced S4 (Subwoofer Steering Simulation Software), a simple and intuitively designed application that allows the user to input basic information on the system specifications (number and spacing of subwoofers, desired cutoff frequency) and quickly configure the optimal arrangement for any situation. Community’s S4 calculator’s easy-to-use graphical interface provides a two-dimensional polar prediction for an array of LF point sources at any given frequency, and predicts the frequency and phase response in front and behind the… View this story

The athletic facilities at Chadron State College (Nebraska) have been given a long-anticipated update, with powerful new sound systems installed at the school’s softball field and Don Beebe Stadium at Elliot Field. Rapid City, South Dakota-based Haggerty Audio Video designed and installed the systems, both centered around Community Professional R-Series loudspeakers. As Haggerty’s Steve Foudray explains, the facilities had been sorely in need of audio improvements. “The football stadium had several issues, each reinforcing the other,” he says. “The system… View this story
