It is with great sadness that Sony Corporation has announced the loss of Norio Ohga, Senior Advisor and former President and Chairman, Sony Corporation. Mr. Ohga passed away on April 23, 2011 in Tokyo due to multiple organ failure at the age of 81. A private wake will be held among family and close relatives, and a company service will take place at a later date. Sony Group has announced that operations at several Sony Corporation and Sony Group sites and facilities have been affected by the Pacific Coast of Tohoku Earthquake and tsunami. As a result of Friday’s earthquake, operations have been suspended at Sony plants in Japan that manufacture CD, DVD and Blu-ray discs. TASCAM’s popular CD-160 CD player has been updated to the new CD-200, which usas a brand new transport, the TEAC CD-5020A.
