Audio-Technica has announced that over 3,000 of its microphones will be used at the XXI Winter Olympic Games, coming up in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, in February 2010. The use of Audio-Technica microphones for the broadcast of the 2010 Winter Games marks the continuation of A-T’s Olympic involvement, which has been consistent since the Summer Games in Atlanta in 1996. Turner Field, home of Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves, originally opened as the Centennial Olympic Stadium for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Following the games, it was converted to a baseball park, with was part of the plan all along, and the Braves moved in at the start of the 1997 season. ICON Studios in Atlanta recently invested in new Equator Audio Research G12 studio reference monitors as well as a Q18 subwoofer for Studio C, one of four studios utilized by top music artists, such as Akon, Jazze Pha, Shawty Red, and DJ Khaled. The monitors were purchased through Atlanta Pro Audio. The Equator Q12 is a two-way active system employing Equator Audio’s Zero Point Reference coaxial design.
