This calculation will give you the ratio, in decibels, between two voltages. For example, you can calculate the gain needed to raise the output level from 0.775 volts to 1.4 volts. Gerald Stanley, currently Senior Vice President of Research for Crown Audio, has just been selected by the Audio Engineering Society’s awards committee and board of governors to receive the distinguished AES Fellowship Award in 2008.
