To enhance the intelligibility of the paging systems within the 86-station Washington Metro rapid transit system in Washington, D.C., all paging announcement microphones have been upgraded to high-end, broadcast-quality Neumann TLM 103s. Washington Metro, or “Metro” for short, has one command and control center in downtown Washington D.C., and a second that is near completion in Hyattsville, Maryland. Within each center, four workstations permit the simultaneous pre-recording of separate pages or, more frequently, simultaneous real-time pages with different content sent… View this story

The Mississippi Delta is considered “ground zero” of the blues-music movement, and in particular, the town of Clarksdale, where U.S. Highways 61 and 49 intersect at the fabled “Crossroads,” holds a mystique with music fans who come from around the world to experience the art form. Blues music evolved in juke-joint nightclubs across the region, but most of them are tucked away, off the main highways and sometimes known only by locals.
