The 125th AES Convention is now ongoing at the Moscone Center on San Francisco through Sunday, October 5.
As usual AES is offering a packed agenda, with a jam-packed technical program featuring conferences, AES paper presentations, seminars, and other events for just about every pro audio and related topic under the sun.
The keynote address for the convention was delivered by Chris Stone (pictured right), who, as co-founder of the New York Record Plant in 1968, created a new breed of studio with a ‘non-traditional” environment designed to foster and inspire creativity.
Entitled “The Artist Owns The Industry,” Stone’s address explored what it takes to succeed in today’s environment in which artists with limited capital create their music in home studios, far removed from million dollar showplace facilities and the guidance of veteran producer/engineers.
A number of Tech Tours of area facilities are also being offered, with Dolby Labs, Sony Computer Entertainment, SF Conservatory, WAM, ILM, and more on the agenda.
Well over 100 exhibitors are on hand to show off new and recent products, and check out the growing roster below of new product coverage.
