Lab X MIX Evaluation Kits Allow Engineers To Compare Network Technologies

In today’s multi-format pro audio industry, it’s critical for product manufacturers to evaluate and compare networking options. New MIX (Module-Independent Cross-Platform) Evaluation Kits (MEKs) from Lab X are a quick way to check out multiple technologies using production-ready hardware.

“With our MEKs, product development teams can investigate the major networking technologies – MADI, Dante, Aviom Pro 16, EtherSound and CobraNet,” says Lab X President Lee Minich. “The purchaser simply executes an NDA with Lab X to protect proprietary information. All of our MIX Modules share a common electrical and mechanical form factor, so one MEK can be used to investigate a wide range of digital audio networking options. MEKs can be used to accelerate several key stages of the product development cycle, including evaluation, prototyping, reference design development and production test platform definition.”

The basic MEK comes in a carrying case with two MIX Test Fixtures, MIX Demonstrator Windows software, USB and Cat 5 cables, two universal power supplies and an Ethernet switch. Each evaluation option includes two MIX Modules, plus all associated cables and necessary hardware.

MIX Eval Kits are available for purchase upon completion of an NDA with Lab X Technologies: this allows manufacturers to evaluate various technologies using production-ready hardware.
