Get Connected Summit Coming Up In San Francisco
The first-ever Get Connected Summit (GCS), to be held this coming Oct 2-3 (2008) at Pyramind Production and Training, 880 Folsom Street, San Francisco, CA, has announced its complete schedule of events, guest speakers, seminars, contests and more.
The Get Connected Summit is an industry development and networking event bringing together leaders and enthusiasts in the electronic music, media and technology industries to explore and showcase innovative talent, technology and social awareness across these increasingly converging sectors.
GCS takes place the same week as two other major music industry events; the San Francisco Lovefest and the Audio Engineering Society (AES) convention.
While these events bring a broad spectrum of internationally recognized and award-winning names in music recording, production, and performance to San Francisco, the GCS immersion experience will connect attendees to a targeted group of electronic music, media and technology professionals through intimate panels, in-depth product demonstrations, artist performances and label showcases.
GCS events, networking opportunities, and after-parties are as varied as they are informative and fun, with mingling of professional musicians, DJs, promoters, executives, producers, engineers, manufacturer’s reps, licensing experts, attorneys, and other creative types who have lead successful careers in entertainment and technology.
The Politics of Entertainment, featuring the Founding President of the SF Entertainment Commission, the Political Director of the SaveSFculture Coalition, and other dignitaries, will address issues related to outdoor events and what is working in cities around the world.
What is the future of DJing? Join the interactive discussion with Remix magazine’s Digital DJ columnist and DJTechTools.com’s editor, Ean Golden, who’ll moderate a panel with recording artists, and pro DJ’s from leading San Francisco radio stations and MTV.
There will also be opportunities to learn recording studio tips and tricks from San Francisco producers and engineers, and also demos of cutting edge music creation and recording products from leading manufacturers such as M-Audio, IK Multimedia, Ableton, Digidesign, Kinaxis, MediaMobz, and Serato Audio Research.
All participants will receive $20 gift cards from iTunes, Ampeg SVX UNO (Bass Amp & Fx Modeling Software) samples and product discounts from IK Multimedia, and everyone can enter to win one of two Les Paul Studio Chameleon electric guitars provided by the Gibson Guitar Company.
Networking mixers will be held at the end of each summit day with food and beverages provided. On the evening of October 2, artists and producers will get immediate access to the ears and feedback of Dance and Electronic music industry veterans and their peers during the Test Press track review session, which results in an unrivaled opportunity to showcase their newest tracks and network with labels, press and distribution representatives.
Participants are encouraged to upload their tracks at http://www.epiphyterecords.com/TestPressuploader/index2.php to get the opportunity to have their music presented and considered for inclusion on the next Test Press compilation release.
In addition, the “Summit Pass” entitles GCS attendees to free admission at evening performances at over 20 of San Francisco’s premiere clubs, including: Vessel, Grey Area Beacon, Mighty, Paradise Lounge, Temple, Fluid, 1015, Icon, Revel Lounge, and 111 Minna.
Additional panelists, exhibitors, and workshops are being updated at http://www.getconnectedsummit.com
The Get Connected Summit is produced in cooperation with partnering organizations and companies, The San Francisco Entertainment Commission, The San Francisco Lovefest, and Pyramind Production and Training, with the support of lead sponsors The Game Audio Network (G.A.N.G.), Dolby, and media sponsors REMIX. Electronic Musician, Music Connection, and Singer and Musician Magazines, as well as The iLiveToPlay Network.
