Clark Wire & Cable Debuts Highly Durable CAT5 FLEX
Clark Wire & Cable has introduced the new CAT5-FLEX brand of cables, designed to exceed EIA/TIA electrical specifications with the added benefits of an extremely durable, ultra-flexible jacket.
Specifically, this Category 5 cable far exceeds the electrical requirements (NEXT and return loss) as defined by TIA/EIA 568-B. This helps to further insure reliable 10BaseT or 100BaseT Ethernet transmission for plug-to-plug channels up to 70 meters (more than 200 feet).
Clarks Flex cable jacket is pressure extruded over the 4-pair core, binding it in place and providing electrical stability during harsh usage.
Because of this, CAT5-FLEX cords will withstand mechanical abuse such as vibration, crushing, and impact; all at levels that are above what other cords experience in a normal office or commercial environment.
The jacket also provides excellent cut-through, tear, and abrasion performance as well as resistance to moisture, oils, and other industrial fluids.
Dan Collins, Director of Sales & Marketing for Clark, explains, “Clark Wire & Cable looks beyond the standards. We’ve always been a customer driven company. From the initial design stage to the final testing, we’re always asking not only what product can make our customer’s job easier but what enhancements we can make to standard products.”
