Henninger Media Services Invests in Sountracs, Fairlight
Henninger Media Services of Arlington, Virginia has purchased four new D4 consoles, according to an announcement by distributor Fairlight USA. Henninger also purchased five Fairlight MFX3.48 digital audio workstations and will network them together using a Fairlight MediaLink Server. The server will also house an extensive library including Fairlight Audiobase2 and Fairlight Server Sound.

According to Robert Henninger, president and CEO, Henninger Media Services, the new D4 exceeds all the audio requirements set by his engineering team and all of the business criteria he sets as a facility owner. "The D4 allows us to present our clients with the most versatile and comprehensive range of post production services in the country," Henninger said." Our brand new, state of the art mix room will be capable of feature film surround audio mixing in the highest resolution available on the market today.

The D4 will continue our leadership in the hi-def market while expanding our capabilities with our current clients." Celebrating its 18th anniversary this year, Henninger Media Services is a leading audio and video production and postproduction facility. The company specializes in long format post services for corporate, television and film markets. Recent projects include long-term post agreements with National Geographic, Smithsonian and Centerseat.
Commenting on the sale, Fairlight Vice President of Broadcast Sales, Michael Mueller said, "The D4 is an excellent console in so many ways that I would characterize it as the thinking mans large-format digital console. Mueller notes that one of the added benefits of the Soundtracs/Fairlight combination is that it enables Henninger to take a project from end to end in 96k.
Henninger's purchase of five Fairlight MFX3.48 systems is one of the largest deployments of the new QDC engine-powered workstation. "QDC is a tremendous technology that synchs with our strategic mission to provide our clients the finest products and services by insuring that our engineering staff is the best-equipped in the industry," Henninger added.
With QDC Technology, Fairlight digital audio workstations are able to run 96 kHz/24-bit on 48 tracks from a single hard drive. According to Fairlight, speed and performance are significantly enhanced via the use of a distributed processor architecture employing Analog Devices SHARC chips, delivering 40-bit floating point processing for effortless real-time DSP capability. All QDC-driven products from Fairlight allow for 48 tracks at 96 kHz/24-bit resolution, including the, MFX3.48, Merlin, Prodigy2 and FAME2
