The Electro-Voice X1-212/120 and high-performance X2-212/120 are 120-degree versions of the already released 90-degree models, and significantly expand the flexibility of the new X-Line Advance family. Both are two-way vertical line-array loudspeaker elements for use in a wide variety of applications where wide bandwidth, vertical and horizontal directivity control, and high efficiency are required in a compact, cost-effective package.

The X1-212/120 is ideal for use as a wide-coverage system in permanent installations using all-120-degree elements, or as the near-field element in a combined line array positioned below 90-degree elements in either passive or bi-amplified mode.  The high-performance X2-212/120 is ideal for use as a wide-coverage system for live sound using all-120-degree elements, or as the near-field element in a combined line array positioned below 90-degree elements, bi-amplified only.  X-Line Advance utilizes state-of-the-art EV-engineered components and incorporates a range of innovative new features, all of which work together to surpass the capabilities of other line arrays, and all in a significantly more compact, flexible, and quicker-to-set-up package:  • An unprecedented performance-to-size ratio for installed and concert sound applications.  • Proprietary FIR-Drive optimization and EV-engineered high-output transducers for advanced control and audio quality. The X1 features the SMX2121 12” woofer for higher output and lower distortion and new, next-generation ND2R high-performance 2” high-frequency compression drivers. The X2 features the new DVN3125 12” neodymium woofer for higher output and lower distortion and new, next-generation ND6A high-performance 3” HF compression drivers.  • Enhanced Hydra plane-wave generators for clarity and control: The X1 features a Mid-Band Hydra (MBH) for superior box coupling and a Wavefront-Shaping Circular Hydra (WCH) for extended linear HF performance. The X2 features a Mid-Band Hydra (MBH) and an advanced Pin-Diffraction Hydra (PDH) for controlled linear HF performance in the most demanding applications.  • New Integrated Rigging System for efficient arraying: Built-in proprietary hardware designed to enable a smaller crew to setup/teardown faster and more safely – in around half the time of a typical line-array system deployment. EV-designed dolly system also saves time and manpower, serving dual purpose as transport and array assembly platform. Compatible with all grids and dollies currently available for 90-degree versions.  • New-look EV industrial design for a clean, streamlined appearance, with enclosure dimensions optimized for more efficient packing and transit. Compact size allows arrays of up to 24 elements.  • New IRIS-Net speaker settings, EASE files, EDS documents, and LAPS 3.3 are available.
