Martin Audio W8LM Mini High Performance Three-way Line Array Enclosure

The W8LM a versatile 3-way mini line array designed for small and medium scale applications, such as corporate events and theatre musicals. Though only 24.4 inches wide and weighing only 64lbs, innovative driver loading techniques enable a W8LM array to deliver maximum dynamic performance and achieve consistent 100° horizontal pattern control. A 120° version the W8LMD can be used as a downfill enclosure at the bottom of a W8LM array, or a stand-alone short/medium throw array element.

The 2 x 8 driver low/mid arrangement of the W8LM is unique. In an innovative Hybrid® configuration, one of the 8 drivers is mounted at the front of the enclosure, whilst one is set back and front-loaded by a horizontal constant directivity mid-horn and toroidal phase plug. Both 8 drivers are rear reflex-loaded and operate in tandem at frequencies below 300Hz. Above 300Hz, an internal passive network rolls off the signal to the forward driver, with the frequencies above 300Hz only being fed to the set-back driver with the mid-horn. Using a single horn-loaded device to produce mid frequencies results in an exemplary 100° horizontal constant directivity dispersion pattern up to 2.2kHz.

The high frequency section consists of 2 x 1 exit horn elements vertically mounted to produce a low-curvature wavefront. Use of 2 x 1 exit HF devices instead of a single 1.4 exit device extends the extreme high frequency response of the W8LM up to 18kHz.
