APB products use a unique “hybrid” construction method where a passive mother board is used in blocks to which all passive components (pots, switches, etc)and active field replaceable active modules are attached. All chassis are of sold heavy gauge construction. The internal electrical design uses mostly direct coupled circuitry avoiding the use of electrolytic capacitors. The results is a product that can withstand the rigors of hard use with a long product life and resulting high ROI in professional applications while offering an exceptionally high audio quality and feature set. VCA control is provided on both input and output channels.

APB products are derived directly from user feedback added to the over 70 years of combined console design experience of its console design team. Products are offered exclusively to the U.S. market through a network of Professional Audio dealers, AV houses and Sound contractors, and the product is tailored to these professional needs and applications. While all products are designed to offer the best value and ROI for the money, APB does not aim to produce the lowest cost products within category but rather the best products at reasonable costs with an aim for a long trouble free life expectancy.
The use of APB consoles within most systems should make it easier to maximize the performance of that system. With a bandwidth of over 115kHz and low phase shift characteristics, systems tend to be more transparent and have a much tighter bottom end than conventional designs. Feature sets are designed for real world applications and flow with the workload. A quick glance reveals proper signal flow and assists in setting up proper gain structure due to extensive signal monitoring. These combined performance characteristics added to the solid physical construction of the unit should result in a long and profitable ROI.
Spectra is a VCA based console with 24 to 56 Mono input channels plus 4 stereo line input channels. It is of a “hybrid” modular design with professional feature sets including Burr-Brown mic preamps with Mic/Line, Pad, 48V and polarity reverse switches. L-R-C-M assignment plus 10 Aux/Group buses are provided.
