The LE1200 continues the tradition of Martin LE Series monitors. It is ultra-compact and combines maximum enclosure volume in a low-profile, unobtrusive design. Featuring a high specification 12 LF driver and a 1.4 exit exit HF compression driver mounted on a specially-designed Differential Dispersion horn, the LE1200 represents a major step forward in monitor technology. The Differential Dispersion pattern means the performer can move over a wide area without significant changes in either SPL or frequency response.
The LE1200 enclosure utilises innovative construction techniques curved ply panels and internal bulkheads combine to produce a lightweight, rigid enclosure with a unique visual style. In terms of technology, the 12 voice coil LF driver has been specifically engineered to cover both bass and mid frequencies, with a highly-linear neodymium motor system to ensure that clean midrange is maintained even at maximum cone excursions. The powerful motor system yields high sensitivity and low weight, and features advanced cooling that reduces power compression to negligible levels.
At high frequencies, a 3 titanium-dome/1.4 exit compression driver feeds a proprietary Differential Dispersion horn which produces constant horizontal dispersion of gradually varying beamwidth, depending on the position of the performer. Standing over the monitor, the horizontal dispersion is wide at 100°. As the performer moves back, the horizontal dispersion gradually narrows to 60° increasing the output of the horn to maintain the same SPL at ear height over a wide area.
