Electro-Voice EVA (Expandable Vertical Array)

EVA is a true line array that offers all the benefits of concert-type line arrays without their cost and complexity. Each EVA-2082S module contains two separate, vertically stacked line-array elements splayed within the module at one-half the included vertical angle of the vertically trapezoidal enclosure. With a single amp capable of powering two full-sized arrays, EVA is an extraordinarily efficient solution for main front-of-house applications.

The two elements of each module consist of two vertically stacked 8-inch (203 mm) LF drivers (one per element) and two pairs of 1.25” (32 mm) HF compression drivers (one pair per element). Each HF driver pair is mounted on a Hydra plane-wave generator, the two of which are vertically stacked and splayed with their respective elements. EVA modules are available in two vertical and two horizontal coverage angles and may be combined into arrays up to eight modules high. Each module effectively functions as one self-contained zone within an array, with built-in upper or lower HF element shading and optional attenuation of the entire module. A sophisticated high-order passive crossover minimizes the need for external DSP and allows an entire array to be powered by a single appropriately sized amplifier channel, resulting in significant cost savings.
