An audio network, routing system and I/O matrix with transfer via fiber optic cable, NEXUS systems also offer audio-format conversion, A/D and D/A converter systems, audio processing, data forwarding, routing interfaces, multi-channel metering, power-amplifier control, and intercom. The various 19-inch “Base Devices” mainframes can be loaded with up to 60 3U plug-in boards incorporating the selected inputs and output cards as required. I/O routing is via proprietary control software via PC or proprietary mixing console.
All audio boards read and write the internal 24-bit audio format, thus audio inputs of any type can be routed to any type of audio output. DSP can be routed to anywhere on the network and the system also supports distribution and generation of serial formats and control signals for downstream devices. Up to 31 Base Devices can be connected via the NEXUS Star routing node, with the capability to route a maximum of 4,096 inputs to 4,096 outputs over distances of 62 miles (100 km).
