Mamba are a series of plug and play digital snakes based on the proprietary patent pending MediaNet protocol and deliver audio over standard CAT 5/6 cable or fiber (via external Media Converters). The systems incorporate uncompressed real-time audio (24-bit/96 kHz), built in cable redundancy and latency quoted as less than 200 microseconds over 450 feet.
Up to 64 x 64 channels (AES/EBU, S/PDIF and control data) can be configured and transported, with 128 x 128 channels available via an Aux 1 and 2 expansion feature. Systems incorporate 16 or 32-channel LLP Point-to Point controllers, combined with low cost PR8E or high end EP84 mic pres. In addition the system can accept line-level inputs from other third party external mic pres via DB25 to XLR or 1/4-inch connectors. Other features include outputs for intercom, video or Internet traffic, and options for use of managed Gigabit switches (VLAN). (http://www.networksound.com)
