The new QL Series from Yamaha Commercial Audio, which includes the QL1 and larger QL5, are outfitted with the same Premium FX racks as the CL Series as well as 16 channels of built-in Dan Dugan automatic mic mixing and Dante digital networking as standard.
The QL Editor software for PC and Mac allows all console parameters to be set up via a computer on- or off-line, and it can be used for live changes as well. The QL StageMix app for iPad facilitates access to FOH and monitor functions, and both Editor and StageMix can be used simultaneously.
QL consoles interface (via Dante) with Rio1608-D (16 ins and 8 outs) and Rio3224-D (32 ins and 24 outs) stage boxes. For added flexibility, Ri8-D (8 ins) and Ro8-D (8 outs) compact stage boxes can also be integrated. Two Mini-YGDAI expansion slots on the console provide connection to Yamaha or third-party expansion cards, including Lake processing, Waves, analog I/O, ADAT, AES/EBU, TDIF-1, MADI, CobraNet, EtherSound, Optocore, Riedel RockNet 100 and 300, Pivitec and Aviom.
Consoles offer direct 2-track recording to standard USB flash drives, and with the addition of Dante Virtual Soundcard software, up to 64 tracks can be recorded simultaneously to a PC or Mac outfitted with an appropriate DAW (connected via Dante).
