The 24 channels are joined by 4 subgroups, 10 aux buses, and left, right and mono main buses, while the surface is outfitted with 29 faders and an LCD screen. Connections include 25 XLR inputs, 3 XLR outputs, 16 TRS outputs, RCA I/O, S/PDIF output, 2 FireWire and 3 muti-pin direct outputs for all channels. Two consoles can be daisy-chained to form a 48 x 4 x 2 system. Recording is accomplished via the FireWire port to a DAW, and each recording channel can be set to record pre or post signal processing.
The StudioLive 24.4.2 can network with a Mac or Windows computer by running the Virtual StudioLive control and editing software, which incorporates Rational Acoustics Smaart measurement technology. Wireless control of the mixer can be accomplished by networking an iPad to the computer and using the Studio-Live Remote for iPad app. An iPhone or iPod Touch running the QMix app allows performers to adjust their own monitor mix. The StudioLive 24.4.2 measures 25.1 x 21.3 x 7 inches (w x d x h) and weighs 51.1 pounds.
