Mackie DL1608

At the 2012 Winter NAMM show in January, Mackie created a stir when it introduced the DL1608 16-channel digital live sound mixer with iPad. While it doesn’t fit neatly into our presentation of consoles here, we did want to note it and also mention that we’ll be presenting an in-depth overview of this mixer in June.

The DL1608 offers 16 Onyx mic preamps and 24-bit Cirrus Logic AD/DA converters with wired or wireless iPad that serves as the mix and control surface. Some preliminary specs:

❚ 6 aux sends for monitor mixes
❚ Master L/R output for mains
❚ 4-band EQ, gate and compression on inputs
❚ 31-band GEQ and comp/limiter on outputs
❚ Global reverb and delay
❚ Master Fader app
❚ Preset and snapshot recall
❚ Record the mix to iPad
❚ 15.5 x 11.5 x 3.9 inches, 6.9 pounds
