Lake Contour at heart of new church system

Lake Technologies Contour digital processors were recently installed at the heart of a new system installation at the First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs.

Design-build firm Clair Brothers Systems integrated the Lake Contour digital speaker controller into a new Clair Brothers main sound reinforcement system at the church.

"This is the first church installation where we've used the Lake Contour and the CAT-2s," explains Gene Pelland, vice president and director of marketing for Clair Brothers Systems. "Overall, after hearing back after the Good Friday/Easter Sunday services from the business manager at the church, Ed Ward, and the facilities manager, Ken Hayward, they were very happy."

Lake Contour is a two-input, six-output device that provides digital equalization, crossovers, dynamics and delays. Contour synthesizes filters, providing precise and flexible equalization for optimizing loudspeaker systems and supporting a virtually unlimited number of EQ curves.

"We used the Lake Contour to drive the left and right Clair Curved Live Array system," continues Pelland. "We're using three CAT-2 loudspeaker elements per side, with a CS-18 subwoofer on top of the cluster." Underbalcony Clair Bros. UB-2003 speaker feeds are driven by a BSS Soundweb. Clair Bros. also supplied six stage monitor wedges.
