HES Wins Three Awards at PLASA 2001
High End Systems swept the PLASA (Professional Lighting and Sound Association) awards Sept. 12 in London, taking home three honors for products and presentation.
Catalyst(tm) won awards for both Design Excellence and Technical Innovation. Judges said the Catalyst represented the "next generation of moving lights" and commented that its "well developed design brought video and lighting effects together seamlessly."
High End also received the award for Best Overall use of Product on a Stand, in the category of (large) stands over 50 square meters in size.
Mike Wood, High End's VP of Engineering, says, "Catalyst was received with enormous enthusiasm by the PLASA visitors. When they see it, people realize that Catalyst is not just a mirror head on a video projector (that's the easy part!) but, in fact, a complete system that allows the dynamic, real-time control of every aspect of an image directly from a standard lighting console. You can see the light of revelation in people's eyes as they get that point and realize that now they can do anything they can imagine with a lighting instrument."
Wood also has words of praise for the HES employees involved in the stand design, saying, "The new products were presented in a clear, straightforward manner. Particularly important were the uncluttered displays, which made it very clear what you were looking at and allowed visitors to understand each product's features."
