Telex has introduced the SoundMate Portable SMP-1 System, the first portable SoundMate package and including a portable transmitter, receivers, headphones, batteries, head-worn microphone and user documentation all housed in a deluxe aluminum-plated “Secret Service” style APA carrying case.
The SoundMate SMP-1 is designed for guided tours, educational activities, instructional seminars, one-on-one training and outdoor productions. The presenter simply straps on a small belt-pack transmitter and a headset microphone for hands-free comfortable operation.
Listeners use a small belt-pack/handheld receiver and a headphone or earphone listening apparatus, with which they may adjust their own volume to a comfortable listening level. Additionally, special accessories are available for those with the need to interface with hearing aids.
The SMP-1 System includes:
PST-16 portable belt-pack transmitter
(6) SR-50 single-channel receivers
(6) HED-2 collapsible headphones
(14) AA Alkaline Batteries
Deluxe System carrying case
SCHS-745 headworn microphone
(1) User manual for SR-50 and PST-16
The PST-16 portable belt-pack transmitter offers 16 user-selectable frequencies and two audio inputs for a high level of product versatility. For example, in a tour guide situation, the user can talk into the microphone while simultaneously mixing in-line level audio from another source right on the belt-pack.
The SR-50 receiver, which operates for 30 hours on two AA batteries, provides clear reception for the listener and features a functional and ergonomic design. The raised volume control knob makes level adjustments easily accessible by feel and the recessed headphone jack provides protection for earphone connections.
