SurgeX has debuted the new SX15-NE/RT and SX20-NE/RT Series Mode surge suppressor/power conditioners. Nicknamed the 'Nerts', the two new models are similar to NFE's original SX15-NE and SX20-NE with the addition of the manufacturer's new impedance-tolerant filter board with remote turn-on capability.
Developed specifically to provide surge protection for dedicated branch circuits, Nerts are housed in 12-in x 12-in x 4-in NEMA enclosures and meet code for use in ceiling plenums. The SX15-NE/RT is 15-amp load capable, while the SX20-NE/RT is 20-amp load capable. Each model has a separate terminal block for connecting a remote control switch or DC drive voltage as well as provides a voltage source for a remote LED status indicator.
New Frontier Electronics' patented Series Mode technology has proven to be vastly superior to conventional MOV circuitry. The SX15-NE/RT and SX20-NE/RT both provide fast, reliable protection, stopping surges of up to 6,000 volts and unlimited surge current without producing any ground contamination. Like all SurgeX models, Nerts meet the most stringent government purchase specification for power line surge suppressors.
Their A-1-1 rating assures the user of dependable protection from destructive spikes, surges and inductive transients. Typical installations include home theaters, computer rooms, broadcast facilities and commercial audio/video installations of all kinds.
The SX15-NE/RT carries a suggested U.S. retail price of $369, while the SX20-NE/RT retails for $429.
