New Sennheiser Wireless Plug-On Transmitter For Wired Mics

Sennheiser is now offering wireless functionality with any conventionally wired microphone with the SKP 30 miniature plug-on transmitter. The new unit will be shown at the upcoming AES Convention in New York.

Working with an appropriate wireless receiver, the SKP 30 plugs into the output jack of any passive or phantom-powered microphone.

It offers 16 pre-programmed, PLL-controlled frequencies chosen by Sennheiser from 1280 user accessible frequencies within its operating range. This capability, coupled with HiDyn plus(TM) noise reduction technology in the SKP 30, ensures compatibility with Sennheiser 3000 and 5000 Series receivers.

Switchable 48V phantom power accommodates condenser microphones and a balanced input maintains signal-to-noise ratio of 114dB. Sensitivity can be set within four 10dB increments, with a 20dB pad included as well. A battery status display on the transmitter allows power manitoring, and a "low batt" warning is also sent to the receiver. A lock function prevents unintended parameter changes.
