 |
Allied Telesyn AT-8224XL

port (SX or LX). There are a variety of management options, as well as support for QoS, VLANs, Trunking and Spanning Tree Protocol. The 8200 series also sports a 16-port 100BASE-FX switch called the AT-8216FXL/SC with the same feature set. The non-blocking switching architecture makes these switches ideal choices for high density networks requiring optimum performance.

3Com SuperStack 3 Switches
|
Added to the 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 3300 series are 3 new managed switches. The 3300 XM is a 24-port switch with no expansion slots, and is a lower cost alternative to the standard 24-port 3300 switch. The 3300 SM is also a 24-port switch containing a high-speed 1000BASE-SX uplink port. Similarly, the 3000 TM is a 24-port switch that contains a 1000BASE-T uplink port. Neither the 3300 SM or TM include expansion slots. Each of these switches has a slim 1 r.u. profile and a feature set that includes support for Spanning Tree Protocol, Trunking and VLANs.

ports. Each are managed switches that contain a cascade stacking module slot. They can all be remotely managed using a web browser, an SNMP management application or a telnet session. Included in the BayStack 450 feature set are support for stacking, QoS, VLANs, Multilink Trunking and Spanning Tree Protocol. These switches are an ideal choice for medium to large networks or networks requiring management, fault tolerance or traffic prioritization.
HP ProCurve Switch 2324 and 2312
The Hewlett Packard ProCurve 2324 and 2312 are unmanaged switches with 24- and 12-10/100 ports respectively. Each switch also supports 2 open transceiver slots for Gigabit Ethernet and 100BASE-FX connections. These are ideal choices for simple networks that do not require management or fault tolerance.
