New Speaker Series and Monitor From Electro-Voice

Electro-Voice showed two new products for fixed install applications at the 2001 AES Convention in New York – the Fri+ Series of loudspeakers and the FRI-28LPM floor monitor.

The FRi+ Series includes the following models:
- FRi+122: 12-inch, two-way, 300-watt, available with 60-degrees x 40-degrees, 90-degrees x 40-degrees, and 60-degrees x 60-degrees HF horn;
- FRi+152 : 15-inch, two-way, 350-watt, available with 60-degrees x 40-degrees, 90-degree x 40-degree, and 60-degree x 60-degree HF horn.

FRi+ Series loudspeakers include a passive/bi-amp design with tamper-resistant simple jumper design for easy changeover, rotatable horns and DH7 compression drivers with 3-in voice coils for increased performance and durability.

Metal cabinet grilles are designed to accommodate custom fabric coverings to match a variety of interior decors. Cabinet exterior has a Future coating.

Meanwhile, the new FRi-28LPM is a two-way full-range passive floor monitor system in a unique slant-sided enclosure. The unit includes dual 8-in woofers and a 1-in/25 mm voice coil compression driver on a 100-degrees x 100-degrees constant-directivity horn.

The FRi-28LPM utilizes EV’s RMD (Ring-Mode Decoupling) for vocal clarity and intelligibility. The enclosure is low profile with non-skid rubber footings.
