What’s Happening With Digital Networking?

Here’s Your Chance To Ask!

Join Kevin Gross of Peak Audio (http://www.peakaudio.com) as he leads a ProSoundWeb live chat session, answering your questions about current and future digital audio networking technologies and applications. The session kicks off on PSW, beginning at 9:30 pm EDT on Monday, February 12.

Director of Network Technology for Peak Audio, Kevin notes that he became ensnared in audio/video technology at a tender age when daycare arrangements fell through and he was taken to his mother's television studio. The video switcher became his busy box.

Since then, Kevin has developed impressive product development experience in live and studio audio applications. At the original WaveFrame Corporation he helped pioneer digital audio disk recording. With Peak Audio he helped develop MediaMatrix and deployed the system in early the installations such as the U.S. Senate chamber (http://www.senate.gov).

For the past five years he has been responsible for design and development of Peak Audio's CobraNet technology for delivery of real-time digital audio via Ethernet. Kevin has had a hand in system and network design for some of the larger CobraNet projects such as the Olympics in Sydney. (Click here for in-depth editorial coverage of the large-scale system at Olympic Park, including the first-ever field application of SNMP, profiled by PSW Installed Sound Editor Keith Clark. The latest information on CobraNet can be found at www.peakaudio.com/CobraNet/.)
