Sennheiser Moves: Winkler Named Director, Marketing Communications;
Sousa Takes Over As Service Manager

Sennheiser Electronics Corp. has announced two personnel moves. Karl Winkler, veteran brand manager for Neumann microphones, has been promoted to director, marketing comm., while Mario Sousa has been named service manager.

Winkler will oversee all advertising, public relations and field communications for the Sennheiser, Neumann, Innova-Son and D.A.S. Audio brands. In addition, he'll be responsible for new promotional items, all printed materials, and corporate web development and maintenance.

Winkler and his team will also initiate ongoing in-house training programs, manage the SEC merchandising calendar and provide the company's monthly sales rep update newsletters on programs and new products.

A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Winkler earned a bachelor's degree in music performance from the University of Arizona and a certificate of advanced studies in recording arts from USC. From 1992 through 1996, he toured with the Air Force Jazz Band as their front of house engineer. Since 1996, Winkler held the position of Neumann brand manager at Sennheiser and is currently an MBA candidate.

Sousa brings 14 years of electronics and service technical management experience to the position of service manager for Sennheiser. His professional experience includes positions as senior technician and national service manager at Kaman Music, technical support specialist and senior technician at Madrigal Audio Labs, and various assignments in live and studio sound engineering.

He has a degree in electrical engineering technology, and spent three years at Boston's Berklee College of Music where he studied music production, engineering and commercial jazz arranging.
