Street Scenes at the Lyric Opera, where performers are outfitted with Sennheiser wireless systems

The Lyric Opera of Chicago recently incorporated Sennheiser wireless microphone systems to assist with spoken-word reinforcement of the production of Street Scene.
Production Director David Pountney brought in audio consultant Otts Munderloh to assist with implementing the wireless systems, used in tandem with the house audio system. |
The Lyric Opera has more than 3,600 seats, and Pountney was concerned that patrons would not be able to adequately hear spoken passages.
Munderloh recommended Sennheiser SK 50 tunable bodypack transmitters and MKE-2 Gold lavalier microphones. More than 20 cast members are outfitted with this package, concealed as well as possible within costumes.
