"It's been quite a ride," quipped Gander. "I've
been fortunate in my career at JBL to have been able to serve in
a wide variety of capacities. Throughout my time, it's always been
the people and the products - the wonderfully dedicated people here
and the innovative products we generate to serve our customer's
needs - that have made the difference. I look forward to many more
years of contributions at JBL."
Gander received an M.S.E.E. from The Georgia Institute of Technology
in 1976, specializing in audio electronics and instrumentation.
That year he joined James B. Lansing Sound, Inc., where he had design
responsibility for various consumer and professional loudspeaker
products including the E-Series and Cabaret Series musical instrument
loudspeakers.
At JBL he has held positions as transducer engineer, applications
engineer, product manager, vice-president marketing, vice-president
engineering and vice-president of strategic development. In 1994
Mark received an AES
Fellowship for significant developments in low-frequency transducer
design and measurement and in loudspeaker systems for large-scale
music reinforcement. That year he was elected to serve as a Governor
of the Society. He is also a member of the
Acoustical Society of America, the Institute of Electrical
