JBL’s Mark Gander Honored For 25 Years Of Service

Mark Gander,VP of marketing for JBL Professional, was recently presented with the JBL "Golden Speaker Award" for his 25 years of dedication to the company and industry.

JBL President Michael MacDonald presented the award, saying. "Mark is one of JBL's not-so-secret weapons. He's the first and last stop for audio information at JBL Professional. We are privileged to have him on our team.”

"It's been quite a ride," quipped Gander. "I've been fortunate in my career at JBL to have been able to serve in a wide variety of capacities. Throughout my time, it's always been the people and the products - the wonderfully dedicated people here and the innovative products we generate to serve our customer's needs - that have made the difference. I look forward to many more years of contributions at JBL."

Gander received an M.S.E.E. from The Georgia Institute of Technology in 1976, specializing in audio electronics and instrumentation. That year he joined James B. Lansing Sound, Inc., where he had design responsibility for various consumer and professional loudspeaker products including the E-Series and Cabaret Series musical instrument loudspeakers.

At JBL he has held positions as transducer engineer, applications engineer, product manager, vice-president marketing, vice-president engineering and vice-president of strategic development. In 1994 Mark received an AES Fellowship for significant developments in low-frequency transducer design and measurement and in loudspeaker systems for large-scale music reinforcement. That year he was elected to serve as a Governor of the Society. He is also a member of the Acoustical Society of America, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers.
