Telex Announces Several New Staff Members

Bill Gelow, director of engineering, speakers. In this capacity, Gelow will be responsible for the company's ongoing innovation in speakers and speaker-related technologies.


Gelow brings nearly 30 years of engineering experience in professional audio, as well as extensive product and marketing management, to the position. Prior to joining Telex, Gelow was senior director of engineering at JBL Professional¾a position that he held for nearly 10 years. Before working at JBL, Gelow developed marketing strategy, products and infrastructure at Renkus Heinz. While at Renkus Heinz, Gelow was instrumental in the development of the advanced room modeling and loudspeaker aiming software, EASE.

Additionally, Gelow has presented numerous technical papers at engineering conferences. He is a chairman on the AES (Audio Engineering Society) Standards Committee and a member of SMPTE. Gelow has also obtained 6 patents and been presented with 3 TEC awards. Besides extensive work in research and design, Gelow has also directly worked with tour systems, and he has designed and commissioned large installed systems.


Ernie Lansford, vice president of professional development and marketing communications. He will also be responsible for Telex Academy, the company's recently introduced dealer, contractor and employee educational program.

Lansford brings nearly 35 years of experience in professional audio sales and sales management, as well as product management, marketing management and business development to the position. Prior to joining Telex,

Lansford was director of business development for the International Music Products Association and president and CEO of JJ & T Business Development and Radio Network. In addition to his duties with Telex, Lansford hosts a weekly jazz program that airs in Florida, Iowa and Nebraska.

Lansford also has many sales awards to his credit. He is a member of the American Society of Trainers and Developers and a commercial member of the National Association of Music Merchants.


Jun Taniguchi, president for EVI Audio in Japan. Taniguchi was most recently managing director of Otaritec Corporation in Tokyo, where he was responsible for restructuring the company's operations to improve efficiency, productivity and profitability. These achievements capped a diverse career within Otari's various international divisions.

Prior to his position as managing director, Taniguchi was in charge of project management and quality control/assurance for all Otari products. He also restructured the company's CAD system, redesigned the Otari Web site, electrically documented product manuals and established an Otari e-

commerce system for purchasing parts. Taniguchi's background also includes directing Otari's audio console development and manufacturing, as well as worldwide marketing and planning for new products.


Randy Siefert, trade show manager, Telex Pro Audio Group. Siefert will be responsible for sales, marketing and development of the company within the trade show circuit.

Siefert brings 21 years of experience in sales and marketing, as well as technical support, purchasing, product management, marketing management and national and international trade show marketing to the position. Prior to joining Telex, Siefert spent 21 years at Century Mfg. Co., a nationally and internationally recognized manufacturer of industrial and automotive service equipment
