A look at the platform and clusters
|
 |
TPC arranged a live demo of these loudspeakers,
along with two other prime choices, at the local convention
center, with a close-fought competition ending with a choice
of MQ Series. Blair McNair, helped with demo and TEF tuning
after installation.
|
The loudspeaker set includes a center cluster
made up dual MQ2394 mid-high horn-loaded modules, split by a single
MQ2412 quad-12in-loaded low-frequency modules. All three, housed
in trapezoidal enclosures, are tightly packed and flown above the
front edge of the platform, providing coverage from the first few
rows to the rear of the room. Left and right clusters are mirrored,
each comprised of a single MQ2394 next to a single MQ2412.

The benefits of early involvement reached
its zenith in this second phase, with Kuespert providing input
on selection of the project architect. Certain architects
would come in and say this is our standard church,
and they were almost immediately shown the door, Kuespert
said. Because of our involvement, and certainly that
of the church team, all architect candidates were aware of
the importance of technology in this building. We simply werent
going to take a standard proposal.
|
As a result, the new 34,000-sq-ft sanctuary is
fully outfitted with infrastructure to meet every possible technical
scenario cable, conduit and interconnect capabilities for
a modern church looking to integrate technology into their services
to a maximum degree, now and in the future. Accommodating 1,200,
the new sanctuary is linked, both physically and technologically,
with the original 23,000-sq-ft church thats been converted
to office space and multipurpose function.

Following preliminary design, Kuespert
and the church team began seeking equipment. First came loudspeakers,
with Greg Hockman of GLS Marketing, Huntington Beach, CA,
a long-time acquaintance, recommending a look (and listen)
to Eastern
Acoustic Works (EAW) (www.eaw.com) MQ Series loudspeakers.
