Early involvement of the designer and contracting
firm in a new church system project even before or concurrent
with the selection of an architect can contribute mightily
to an optimum systems result.
The new sanctuary for Granger Community Church
(GCC), located in Granger, Indiana, presented just such an opportunity.
TPC
Technologies (www.tpctechnologies.com) of nearby Niles,
Michigan was introduced to key GCC personnel almost seven years
ago, when the church was relatively small but growing. (They originally
hosted services in a former movie theater.) TPC President Ken Kuespert
maintained a close relationship with Executive Pastor Tim Stevens
and other GCC principals as the church thrived.

The control position resides out of the range of blanced coverage
from the primary clusters, three loudspeakers provide accurate
system monitoring.

Shortly thereafter, the relationship paid
off when it came time for a new GCC sanctuary a few years
ago. Stevens and key church personnel, working with Kuespert
and the architectural firm, collaborated on the facility,
putting together an audio-video infrastructure as well as
telephone and data networks for the 450-seat atrium-style
room.
More growth ensured, and plans commenced
for an expansion. The church had reached peak attendance of
2,500 and needed as many as five services each weekend to
accommodate everyone.

Interconnects a-plenty throughout the sanctuary.

GCCs contemporary worship services
feature a good deal of live music, with the expanded sanctuary
needing to accommodate this as well as planned video and PowerPoint
presentations.
The fan-shaped sanctuary features an impressive
left-center-right concert-level sound reinforcement system.
A high ceiling a constant 27ft. above the floor
accommodates a catwalk, while the front of the room includes
a raised platform

and seating divided into three sections. Intersecting
walls behind the platform were purposely designed to accommodate
future enlargement of the sanctuary.
