Curt Taipale heads Taipale Media Systems, a successful consulting
firm, and is co-founder (with wife Jenna) of Church
Soundcheck, a discussion group and web site, founded in 1997,
that serves as an excellent community information resource used
by thousands worldwide. And, he is Sacred Sound Editor for Live
Sound International magazine.
Curt received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of
Miami in 1980, studying Music Engineering Technology with Bill Porter
(engineer for Elvis, the Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison and others),
and began working in recording studios soon after that. In 1982
he joined Grace Church in St. Louis as audio director, where he
remained for eight years.
While at Grace Church, he started recording albums and CDs for Integrity
Music, working with producer Tom Brooks on the early Hosanna series
projects. That relationship brought him into a position to do live
sound for Worship International, the ministry extension of Integrity.
He mixed for many Integrity artists, including Ron Kenoly, Marty
Nystrom, Eugene & Joy Greco, Randy Rothwell, Kent Henry, Alvin
Slaughter, Bob Fitts, Paul Wilbur, Jamie Harvill, Carl & Leann
Albrecht, and many others.
Curt has authored numerous articles, many of which can be found
on ChurchSoundcheck at http://www.churchsoundcheck.com.
And for more information, see Designing Your New Sound System, a
booklet also on the site.
