Hoellstern amplifies

  • Since October 2007 the new amplifier models DELTA14.4 and DELTA14.4-DSP have been available, rounding off Hoellstern’s product range. High output powers of 1,300 watts at 8 ohms up to 5,000 watts at 2 ohms with 4-channel operation, 12 kg weight housed in a compact 2 RU 19” case speak for themselves.

For the built-in 24 bit / 96 kHz DSP loudspeaker management function, which has been available since mid 2006, Hoellstern develops faithful setup emulations of popular loudspeaker systems. This special customer service allows the user to realize extremely compact, light-weight and economic AMP racks without being committed to brand-related external controllers. There is enough computing power to emulate e.g. complex cardioid setups for tops and subs in a Hoellstern 4-channel amplifier, notabene at a 96 kHz sampling rate. On the 4-channel models, the practical DSP option has 4 (!) individual audio inputs, e.g. for 4-channel monitoring or 2 separate stereo inputs for mid/high and sub signals (e.g. AUX routing). By integrating the DSP loudspeaker management into the amplifier, ample loudspeaker protective functions such as peak and RMS limiters can be very easily and reliably incorporated. The latency with active DSP loudspeaker management features an almost record-setting 0.2 ms and is thus perfectly suited for instance to drive monitors with a fully active equalization and a superb directness. As an open power amplifier system with a very good audio performance, the DELTA14.4 (-DSP) is hence ideally suited for all professional sound applications.

Furthermore, the Konfigurator1 software is now available. With it, setup swapping and management becomes a breeze. At this year’s Prolight + Sound the currently revised second level “Konfigurator 2“ was presented. With its help, the user can comfortably control and freely define the parameters of all Hoellstern amplifiers via network. The 300 setup plus 200 presetup memory locations in the amplifier allow the user to handle and store all possible and future loudspeaker configurations. Combined with the faithful setup emulations created by Hoellstern you’ll get a very powerful and future-proof tool.

Over the past 4 years, some small and also some not-so-small loudspeaker manufacturers from Switzerland, the USA, Germany and Finland have chosen Hoellstern amplifiers as their reference because of their outstanding performance.

Other European manufacturers are now evaluating our amplifiers and will get technical support from Hoellstern on request.
