EM Acoustics New Products for 2008
EM Acoustics is proud to announce the launch of three new products for 2008. These products are intended to build on the existing ranges, as well as broadening the product appeal.
EMS Series
Two additions to the acclaimed EMS Series are intended to broaden the application range for EMS Series products, particularly for the installation and corporate markets.
The EMS-61 is a compact, two-way passive enclosure, intended to fulfil a variety of applications from compact corporate work to club & bar installation as well as theatrical use. The compact enclosure houses a reflex-loaded high excursion 6.5” neodymium LF drive unit, and a 1” exit neodymium HF drive unit on a rotatable 90 x 60 constant directivity waveguide. These components are internally matched by a trademark EM Acoustics UniPhase crossover network, removing the need for external processing or multiple amplifier channels. The enclosure is supplied as standard with a foam backed hex-punched steel grille, with a variety of flexible rigging options built in.
The EMS-115 is a compact subwoofer, designed to answer the demand for compact low frequency enclosures in modern installation situations. The enclosure houses a single high excursion neodymium 15” LF drive unit, in a compact quasi-bandpass enclosure. A kick-proof foam backed steel grille protects the front of the enclosure, and connectors are recessed into the rear of the enclosure to allow for installation flexibility. For mobile applications, castors can be fitted and a 35mm polemount is included to allow suspension of EMS-81 or EMS-121 enclosures above.
The main addition to the EM Acoustics product line is HALO, the first of a new series of line array loudspeaker products. HALO redefines compact line array systems, through the use of ingenious acoustic technologies. These technologies allow the use of a genuine ribbon drive unit for the high frequencies, giving not only superior sonic performance on-axis but stable even coverage off-axis, as well as seamless inter-element coupling. The system performs as a genuine line source throughout all frequency bands, with ample headroom due to its five drive unit compliment. Added to this is a simple and intuitive flying system, allowing up to twenty enclosures to be flown with ample safety factors.
HALO will be shipping later in 2008, however ProLight & Sound gives EM Acoustics a chance to introduce the concept to the industry.
