John Powell Named Interim Sales Leader For JBL Professional

To manage sales operations as the organization migrates to a new system

Harman Professional has named industry veteran John Powell as interim head of sales for JBL Professional, providing distributors and manufacturer’s reps with a qualified leader to manage sales operations as the organization migrates to a new system. 

According to Blake Augsburger, president of Harman Professional, Powell is qualified to support the channel with in-depth industry experience, as well as 11-plus years with the company and strong technical knowledge.

“We’re positioning the JBL organization for consistent long-term growth,” Augsburger states.  “Doing so will benefit customers, employees and key stakeholders — not least distributors and manufacturer’s representatives. John Powell has stepped in to head up our sales organization and I am pleased that we have an executive of his caliber to call on from within our ranks.”

Powell joined Harman Pro in 2001 as director of international sales for dbx and DigiTech, and became divisional director of sales for Canada and Latin America in 2008.  \

Previously, he served as director of sales & marketing at Boston Acoustics, and prior to that, international sales manager at JBL International.  He holds a Bachelor Of Business Administration from California State University Northridge and is fluent in several languages.

I look forward getting to work and to speaking with reps and distributors around the globe.”
