DMP 128 Series of digital matrix processors are now available with Dante network connectivity.

Extron Electronics has announced a major expansion to the DMP 128 Series of digital matrix processors with three new models incorporating Audinate Dante network connectivity.

The DMP 128 is a 12×8 audio mixer offering Extron ProDSP, automixing, I/O expansion capabilities, and available AEC acoustic echo cancellation.

The three new DMP 128 AT models offer a 56 input by 24 output expansion matrix, providing efficient scalability for creating larger audio matrixes over a local area network using standard Internet Protocols.

A built-in four-port Gigabit switch provides direct interconnection of multiple DMP 128 AT units. DMP 128 processors offer a configuration approach to DSP that simplifies mixing, routing, conferencing, and room optimization.

Quick and intuitive configuration using the DSP Configurator software allows the DMP 128 to be installed in very little time, with easy-to-learn adjustments that can be heard in real-time.

“We are pleased to be offering our DMP 128 audio DSPs with Dante digital audio networking capability, which provide a very wide range of possibilities for large-scale audio system designs and future system expansion,” says Casey Hall, vice president of sales and marketing for Extron. “These three models are new additions to our growing family of DMP 128 audio processors which offer several advanced features including AEC.”

“Extron is recognized for its leadership position for integrated commercial AV installations and we are excited to be a part of this innovative new matrix mixer,” says Lee Ellison, CEO of Audinate. “The new Dante enabled DMP 128 offers flexible, scalable audio matrixing, while providing Extron customers with widespread interoperability with other Dante networked products. This delivers an unparalleled rich audio experience for conferencing and presentation systems.”

DMP 128 AT models provide scalable audio transport over a local area network using standard Internet protocols. Each processor sends out 24 channels of 24-bit/48 kHz digital audio and can receive 56 channels over the network.

The built-in four-port Gigabit switch also provides direct interconnection of multiple DMP 128 AT units to create larger, cost-effective audio matrixes.

Dante technology distributes a virtually unlimited 512×512 audio channels at 24-bit/48 kHz over a single Gigabit Ethernet link, or 48×48 audio channels at 24-bit/48 kHz over a single 100 Mbps Ethernet link, plus integrated control data with extremely low latency. Both Dante and the DMP 128 AT processor’s four-port switch are AVB (Audio Video Bridging) ready.
