Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems has introduced the SW1112 subwoofer, the newest member of the company’s Installation Series of loudspeakers.
Significantly smaller than other 12-inch-loaded subwoofers, the woofer features a 4-inch voice coil providing very good power handling and response.
The SW1112 has a 2,800-watt input capacity with peak 127 dB sound pressure level output. Discrete nominal impedance measures 8 ohms with power ratings delivered at 700W (Noise), 1400W (PGM), 2800W (Max). Discrete sensitivity measures 93 dB.
Further, the SW112 has a direct connection to full-range units without the need for special speaker cables, and includes 12 x M10 rigging points, two handles, a pole socket, NL4 and barrier strip connectors. Vibration damping rubber feet are supplied.
Cabinet finish color choices are black or white. Weight is 53 pounds, and dimensions are 14.9” x 15.5” x 17.9”. MSRP is $1,199.
“Our contracting customers have requested that we develop a lower-cost, efficient sub-woofer for our smaller, Installation Series Speaker models,” states Albert Cardenas, Yamaha speaker product marketing manager. “We believe the new SW1112 will satisfy their requirements.”
